We know the Jimny is amazing to drive off-road, but as a tow car on Tarmac, it’s flawed.
It is painfully slow, taking 27.7 seconds to trundle from 30-60mph. More importantly, the car pitched and rolled in the lane-change test, and didn’t feel secure at speed.
The Jimny’s highest score is for practicality (remember, this relates to its practicality as a tow car, rather than the cabin space).
There are boxes ticked for having an easily accessible full-size spare and a user-friendly towball and electrics.
