The Q8 is very stable. In the lane-change test, it remained under control, even with the caravan pitching around behind it. And at high speeds it was reassuringly secure.
In fact, just about the only black mark is a disappointing 30-0mph stopping distance of 11.8 metres – two metres longer than the Volkswagen Touareg’s.
You could camp in the huge boot, and it’s also good to see self-levelling suspension.
But as much as we enjoyed towing with the Q8, there’s no escaping the high price.
