We’re getting into the realms of serious wealth with the lavishly laden Audi Q7 S-line.
It certainly shifts, even with a van behind it, going from 30-60mph in 13.4 seconds. And thanks to some help from a stability programme with a towing mode, the Q7 was among the quickest cars through the cones in damp conditions.
The Audi is one of the growing band of big 4x4s with seats for seven and, with the rearmost seats stowed, our practicality test team found space for all but two items of luggage from our test kit.
The Q7 comes with adjustable suspension, which can be tuned for dynamic responses or greater comfort. Whatever the setting, however, the ride is very stiff, especially for those in the back.
